Historic St. Louis Museum

Tucked away in Affton, Missouri stands the country home of the pioneer banker, Louis A. Benoist. Today, his mansion has been completely restored to its original beauty from 1853.

The house, now a historic museum, is owned and maintained by the Affton Historical Society. Oakland’s restoration began back in the early 1970s.

The historic Oakland House offers an exclusive St. Louis wedding venue with beautiful grounds, exquisite  renovations, and amazing photo opportunities to capture wedding memories. 

While we are a most popular wedding venue, we are also avaliable to host your other special occasions as well. Contact our caretaker with any questions you may have or to discuss booking.

Saturday, August 15th

10am – 4pm

As you visit multiple historic sites, observe how the outdoors compliment the inside spaces. Be it a single potted plant, a garden, a farm, or the wider environs, each historic site relates to its surroundings. See how our ancestors connected with the land, in both ornamental and practical ways. Enjoy various summertime activities. Be inspired, and take home your own landscape painting in your mind’s eye.

We are opening our doors beginning in June. Please check our Facebook for the latest updates. Open house tours, open luncheons, yearly events, and house showings will be occuring as planned. Booked events will remain as scheduled unless the customer specifies otherwise.
